Fashion Victim?

Setting: Paris Fashion Week 2010
Characters: Entertainment's Elite (i.e. Kany West, and drop dead gorgeous stylish beau Amber Rose, Ciara, designers blah blah blah
Plot: To prove "FRESH IS AN OPINION, LOVE IS OBJECTIVE, TASTE IS SELECTIVE, AND EXPRESSION IS MY FAVORITE ELECTIVE. NO MORE POLITICS OR APOLOGIES!!!"

I believe Kanye West aka the "Louis Vuitton Don" is VERY stylish and is in fact a trendsetter much more than any designer has been in the last hmm lets say 3-4 years. West, along with most hip hop figures mention designer labels in their songs every other bar. But aside from the increase for the need for Gucci or Louis replicas (pardon me) the majority of the population don't have the means or the desire to turn to high end labels instead they search for the exclusive sunglass styles, the backpacks, the sneaks, and basically his entire look everyday in stores, magazines, etc. With that being said I believe West reaches a greater majority of individuals than most in the fashion industry (aside from the greats i.e. Chanel etc) have ever through his music, style, and attitude. So could anyone ever claim his fashion sense is of reproach? I dont think so...

I think Kanye West is a figure the media has decided to be made the "whipping boy" (the one to take the blame for everyone elses faults) Im sure the media believes most African American males cant be controlled or exhibit outrageous behavior and they want to reprimand them all. Which eventually they do because by the celebrities own stupidity they (pardon my language) fu** themselves i.e. Gilbert Arenas, Tiger Woods, Chris Brown etc. However, I do not believe this is so for Mr. West.

Despite the Hennesey on the red carpet thing, oh and the Taylor Swift incident, and the MTV thank you speech West has done no wrong. I say this because in retrospect the 'iffy" red carpet scene has been done (Angelina Jolie & Thornton "just had sex in the limo?") the Taylor Swift scenario was nothing but the truth we ALL know Beyonce deserved that award and we were happy Kanye made that speech and then the MTV speech, the mans mother died may she R.I.P. I believe he had the right to speak his mind and take his time so who is wrong in these situations? West or the media? You be the judge...

Below is an excerpt from West blog, I found on one of my fav blogspots @necolebitchie...check her out!

Go Hard or Go Home

Rihanna has really "transformed" into a style icon over the past year. Despite her publicized love quarrel with then beau Chris Brown, Rihanna hadn't mad a name for herself. She was simply Jay Z's new artist, or Chris Browns girlfriend, she was never her own person...until now.

The songstress has advanced in her music career as a pop princess overnight with the release of her new album Rated R and has showed us another side we've never seen before. From her provocative tracks (Rude Boy) to her revealing yet fashionable outfits shes not the same Ri Ri we knew before. Before, Rihanna was a simple, down to Earth "Pink" sweat suit wearing girl. However, post Brown you might catch the songstress prancing around town in all the shoes that Giuseppe made. Perhaps she took the concept of Good Girl Gone bad too far. I never considered Rihanna as a style source but she has this ability to transform through many looks: glam, rock, chic, grunge, hobo, and she looks good in almost every last one of them. Which brings us to the cover of W magazine, in this Febuary issue Rihanna brings us to the place she was in last year and how she coped with it all...

Once a good girls gone bad shes gone forever : )
